Mr. Hughes' Website

I heard a quote that says, "There is always that one teacher in everyone's life that clicks, and makes you really think about things. I strive to be that one teacher in all of my students' lives". I realize that being a teacher is more than just teaching a subject. Being a teacher includes learning about the student, their likes their dislikes, and how they learn. Teaching is more than just lectures and textbooks. Teaching also involves giving the students hands on experiences and showing them how the things they learn in class relates to their everyday lives. During this year, I hope to lay a foundation, which can be built upon as they continue in their education.

Students will not be receiving weekly homework in science this year. Although students will receive homework on occasion, it will not be on a consistent basis. Students will complete the majority of their assignments in class and be participating in hands on and group activities. All notes given in class, as well as graded assignments will be kept by the students in their science binder.
